Have a Heart!

Terror! Put on a new identity when the nuclear bomb was detonated over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945 and again on August 9 on Nagasaki, the same year. The figures of the death toll was heart wrenching and it still is.

When the mother whispered goodnight into the ears of her child, hardly did she know that there will be no tomorrow. When the wife cradled in the comforting arms of her husband, sure she never thought that this way they would bid adieu to the world. When the lovers parted and planted a good night kiss, they perhaps never fathomed that it would be their farewell kiss. When the old and weak writhed in pain, hardly did they know that tonight was the end to all their pains.

Who gave them the right to kill? Who gave them the right to kill these innocents?
The gory photographs of the holocaust still bag all the prestigious awards, the aftermath of the disaster still looms in the embryo that breathes in the mother’s womb in Japan.
Has the human race forgotten the terror, which still bears the scar? Why is everyone participating in the rat race of nuclear arms and artilleries? Why does ear turn deaf on the issue of nuclear weapons. But, there is one man who walks on knocking from door to heart, to be precise heart to heart. He touches them with his warmth, he embraces with his compassion to let that spirit burn in every heart today, today he is a global citizen, he does not confine himself just to Japan. He belongs to the Soka Gakkai, one such organization, which has ever since been calling forth for abolition of these terror weapons. It all started with the ardent speech of Josei Toda, on 8th September 1957, the president of the organization calling forth the youth to carry forward his mission. The baton was passed on to the young Daisaku Ikeda, now the third president of the organization. This young champion of Kosen Rufu emboldened the passion in his heart and pledged to realize his mentor’s mission. He is 79 and he is still continuing. Let us share his mission. Let us make a vow.

Let us renew our pledge to condemn nuclear weapons once again on this day when human race saw the unimaginable goriness of nuclear arms. Let the entire world say 'Farewell to Arms.'

So? how do you want to contribute towards the complete disarmament?
